The innocence of childhood can be easily taken away and it often is nowadays. Children that are abused or have really bad things happen to them at about the age of 6 and up often start to act differently and their innocence is stolen, making them act older and that steals away their childhood.Analysis: In the beginning of this essay the author explains how the loss of innocence is a result of gaining knowledge or an experience. In The Road, the boy loses his innocence to both factors. He is suddenly exposed mass murders and cannibalism and the knowledge that the new world is not mainly pure and good rather it is prevalently evil and dark.To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is no exception. The novel compares many of its characters to mockingbirds, a symbol of pure innocence. Two of the most prominent of the novel’s mockingbirds are Tom Robinson, a black man wrongly accused and convicted of rape, and Boo Radley, an outcast from society who spends his days like a hermit locked up in his house.
